FBJ Studio
This small backyard studio takes advantage of an existing change in grade on the building site. The studio portion is entered from the lower yard, and a small storage loft over the studio bathroom is entered from the upper yard.
The studio feels surprisingly large inside, given the small (16'-0" x 24'-0") footprint. The interior gains its spacious feel from its height, and from the natural light flooding the room from two large skylights. Select views - of garden and sky - keep the studio from feeling completely isolated, but maintain privacy for the artist within.
